Yew Tree

Buttermere
Sleeps 2
Bedrooms 1
Talk about views! Yew Tree is a ground-floor bolt-hole for two guests, situated in the centre of Buttermere Village and comes with parking for one car or secure storage for bicycles.

The stunningly-beautiful valley is flanked on each side by high mountains, which are popular with walkers. Fells include High Stile, Red Pike, Haystacks and Robinson Fell, to name a few. The Buttermere Valley is also where you'll find both Crummock Water and Buttermere, two famous lakes separated by a short span of land, where Buttermere Village is situated.

Less than a two-minute walk from this Lake District holiday cottage are two lovely pubs serving great food and real ales, Croft House Farm cafe serving butties, cakes and ice cream, and Syke tea room which also services excellent breakfasts. You'll be spoilt for choice!

If you wish to explore further afield, Keswick is just 10-miles away, over Newlands Pass. There is a regular daytime bus service between Keswick and Buttermere in the summer months.

Yew Tree has been beautifully refurbished by the tenants of this Lake District farm to provide open-plan living space with a kitchen sitting area and an electric fire for the chillier evenings. Off the living area is the spacious double bedroom and the bathroom with bath and shower over also has an electric towel rail. The views from all the windows are of the majestic mountains.

If you fancy relaxing after a day on the fells, Yew Tree has a lovely lawn garden with views of the farm, grazing sheep and the mountains beyond. A purpose-built BBQ space has been provided, suitable for two disposable BBQs.

Buttermere

About the location

The location is just stunning! Buttermere is a true gem of the Lake District, popular with walkers and cyclists who take on the challenge of the steep and winding roads.

Just 10-miles from Keswick, the Buttermere Valley is accessible from the A66, which links to the M6 Motorway. There are three routes to the village, two of which are mountain passes with spectacular views.

Walkers will be spoilt for choice with many famous walking routes starting from your doorstep, including Haystacks, High Stile and Robinson Fell. If you prefer to stay at ground level, there are two superb circular paths, one around the shores of Buttermere and the other following the shores of Crummock Water, via the excellent Kirkstile Inn. When you return, visit either of the two village pubs for an evening meal, a few real ales and chat about the days out exploring.

Locally in Keswick, a busy and vibrant town, you'll find Derwent Water and a good choice of shops, bars, restaurants and attractions. Daily bus service makes it easy to travel if you don't plan to use the car.

All-in-All, you will be blown away by the comfortable accommodation and the spectacular vistas that the Buttermere Valley offers.
