Otter View is a gorgeous two-bedroom terraced holiday home with a garden and parking that has been beautifully refurbished throughout. The house is situated across the road from the River Kent, where, as the name suggests, playful otters are often seen frolicking in the water.

If you want to visit the highlights of Kendal, you'll be able to walk to the centre of the Kendal shopping area in about 10 minutes. It's a gentle walk along the riverbank. You'll find a great choice of shops, bars, restaurants, cafes, galleries and museums in town.

The house comprises a double and a single bedroom upstairs. On the ground floor is the living room with an open fire, a smart TV and comfy sofas. The fully-equipped kitchen is perfect for cooking a family meal on the nights you opt to stay in. Alternatively, you can enjoy the enclosed garden to the rear on warmer days.

Otter View has off-street parking for two cars to the rear. There is also unrestricted street parking to the front.

Kendal is an excellent choice for holidays given the easy access to the M6 Motorway and also the direct access by car but or train to Windermere and beyond into Ambleside, Grasmere etc.

The property is easily accessible from the M6 motorway, and the central location makes it ideal for visiting the many Lakeland villages, including Windermere, Ambleside, Keswick and Coniston.

  • The ground floor comprises the living room with a fabulous open fire, a flat-screen Freeview TV and comfy furnishings. View from the living room to the River Kent.
  • Off the living room is the modern kitchen fitted out to a high standard with modern appliances. The rear door leads to the patio area where you will find the outhouse that has been converted into a laundry room with a washer & dryer, outside furniture and the second-level sitting area.
  • Upstairs is two bedrooms, a double bedroom with a view of the River Kent, and a single bedroom with a view of the rear garden.
  • Modern Shower room with large walk-in shower, basin with illuminating Bluetooth mirror, loo and heated towel rail.

  • Changeover days are either a Monday or a Friday.
  • The stairs to the first floor are carpeted with a secure handrail.
  • Bed linen, towels and a starter supply of wood for the open fire are provided.
  • Broadband is Superfast
  • A travel cot, high chair and stair gate are available on request.
  • A CCTV camera is installed outside the rear of the property for security purposes.

Known as the Gateway to the Lakes, Kendal nestles on the banks of the River Kent with streets branching outward from the central high street. Kendal is well known for its many Yards that are home to residents and shops alike. Perched on the hill, overlooking Kendal is the 12th century Kendal Castle ruins, a popular walking area with great views. The castle is also home to various events throughout the year including the annual kite festival. Kendal provides a great choice of restaurants, bars, many of which serve great real ales, and cafes. The Abbot Hall Art Gallery is popular with visitors and holds portraits by Kendal-born George Romney and works by Turner and Ruskin. The gallery also hosts various exhibitions throughout the year.

Kendal itself is ideally placed for exploring South Lakeland, the Yorkshire Dales and beyond. With other attractions such as Kendal Museum and the Museum of Lakeland Life, the fascinating Quaker Tapestry, Lake Windermere and the wider National Park within easy reach, Kendal provides a superb base for a relaxing break.
