The Honey Bee Shepherd's Hut is an absolute Lake District glamping delight! Situated on the grounds of the former Hawkshead Grammar School, adjacent to the owner's bed & breakfast, you are just a few minutes' stroll from the centre of Hawkshead Village and the many shops, pubs and eateries, excellent if you don't fancy cooking.

The Newly built Shepherd's Hut is of the highest standard, and guests will enjoy the fabulous layout, especially the super-comfy king-size double bed with a glass roof above, a real treat with the dark sky!

The Hut has been fitted with a well-appointed kitchenette that includes a small breakfast counter with two stools. A raised log-burning stove sits in the corner of the hut. In addition to the underfloor heating, the stove is an excellent treat on chiller nights. A self-contained shower room with a walk-in shower which is mains-plumbed, so excellent water pressure. The enclosed patio area, with an Astroturf surface, houses the hot tub and garden furniture, as well as a secure undercover area for storing walking gear or bicycles.

Celebrating a special occasion? The Owners can provide a celebration pack including balloons, banners, flowers or a cake, a bottle of prosecco and chocolates for GBP50.

Hawkshead

About the location

Hawkshead is a beautiful village situated on the Western shores of Lake Windermere. It is surrounded by stunning scenery and plenty of walks.

The 505 Bus route between Coniston and Kendal travels through Hawkshead, stopping at Ambleside, Waterhead Pier (Change here for the Windermere cruise boats), Brockhole Visitors Centre, Windermere and Ings, so leave the car and explore by bus.

Nearby Grizedale Forrest is hugely popular with walkers and mountain bike riders. The forest offers a range of bike routes, graded for difficulty, walking routes taking in the woodland sculptures and also Go-Ape where you can fly between the treetops and zoom on the zip lines.

Ambleside (which is walkable on off-road tracks) is a foodie-delight. There are lots of pubs serving good food and real ales, and eateries including the Michelin Starred The Old Stamp House Restaurant.

Coniston and Coniston Water is another popular choice for visitors. Head there on the bus and tackle Coniston Old Man or perhaps set sail on the Coniston Steam Boat. Visitors here also have a good choice of pubs, shops and eateries.
