Number 12 Grasmere is situated on the popular White Cross Bay holiday Park and conveniently just a few steps away from the main reception building and leisure complex, where you will find the restaurant, bar, swimming pool and fantastic outdoor play area.

The spacious lodge has been recently redecorated and furnished to meet the high standard expected by today's modern guests. The open plan living, kitchen and dining area is light and bright, making it a wonderful space for the family or friends to relax and unwind.

The central hallway and the three bedrooms lead off the kitchen: a double, a triple (double with single over) and the third bedroom with children's bunk beds. Next to the bedrooms is the family bathroom and a separate WC.

Outside, the wooden decking area, with a table and chairs, is a great space to enjoy the good weather; coupled with a fabulous hot tub, this lodge is a perfect option for families and friends alike.

The lakeshore is a 5-minute walk away where you can paddle or swim; otherwise, there are excellent public transport links from the Holiday Park. The hourly 555 bus service runs all day, every day, between Keswick and Windermere, via the Park.

  • Kitchen - Breakfast counter, electric oven & 4-ring hob, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster, sink, fridge and freezer. Plenty of pots, pans, and utensils.
  • Dining - Round 4-place dining table
  • Living area - Three-seat sofa and an armchair. Wall-mounted TV, electric log-effect fire, music stereo.
  • Bedroom 1 - Double bed with bedside tables, TV, and a wardrobe for clothes storage.
  • Bedroom 2 - Triple bedroom with a double bed and a single bed over.
  • Bedroom 3 - Bunk Beds (suitable for children only due to their size).
  • Bathroom - Walk-in shower cubicle, basin and heated towel rail.
  • WC - Toilet and a basin.
  • The bunk beds are suitable for children only.
  • The paved driveway to the property is big enough to accommodate two cars.
  • There are three steps from the parking area up to the gate of the fully enclosed decking. The lodge is then one level.
  • Pets are not permitted at this lodge.
  • Guests wishing to use the Park's on-site leisure facilities must purchase leisure passes from the Park reception upon arrival. Charges apply.
  • Please note: Neither the lodge owner nor the agent has any control over the availability or pricing of the leisure facilities.
  • A launderette is available on the park site *subject to local charges. There is an iron & ironing board in the lodge.

Additional Park Rules and Operations at White Cross Bay

  • White Cross Bay is owned and managed by a separate company from ourselves. Herdwick Cottages has no association with the owners of White Cross Bay or responsibility for the provision of services they offer. At certain times of the year, there may be a reduction in those services outside of our control.
  • Commercial vehicles, caravans, camper vans, Hen or Stag parties are not permitted on site.
  • You will be staying in an operational holiday park, which means work may be undertaken from time to time by the park owners during your stay. However, Herdwick Cottages will always try to inform guests in advance if something may impact their stay and if we have prior knowledge. We cannot be held responsible or accept any liability for park operations outside of our control and of which we have no knowledge.
  • For the comfort of other holidays guests we request that noise is kept to a minimum. Usage of the hot tub is between 10am and 10pm only. 
  • Complimentary WiFi is provided by White Cross Bay and is subject to fair usage guidelines. The quality and reliability of the connection will vary based on the number of people using it, and prevailing weather conditions and therefore may be limited or slower than you are used to. WiFi is for personal use and general web browsing or sending emails only. It is not intended to be used for high data usage, steaming on-demand TV, gaming and/or use for business purposes. Neither the Lodge Owner nor Herdwick Cottages have any control over the provision of the WiFi. If you encounter any issues with the WiFi, please get in touch with Park reception for assistance.

White Cross Bay holiday park nestles on the shores of Lake Windermere, midway between Windermere and Ambleside, in the Lake District National Park. Nearby is ?Troutbeck Bridge, 0.8 miles; Windermere, 2 miles; Bowness, 3 miles and Ambleside, 3 miles.

The World of Beatrix Potter in Bowness-on-Windermere is a popular attraction where technology brings her characters to life, and Brockhole Lake District Visitor Centre, with its Treetop Trek aerial adventure, boat hire, and lake cruises, is a short walk away from the site

A must-see attraction is the Windermere Lake Cruises which sails 7 days per week between sunrise and sunset. It is a fantastic way to see beautiful scenery. The cruise boats sail between Bowness and Ambleside, stopping at Brockhole and down to Lakeside, which has a celebrated aquarium.

With destinations including Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains all within easy reach, this location is perfect for a Lake District holiday at any time of the year.

Onsite, White Cross Bay offers an onsite dog-friendly bar & restaurant, an Indoor swimming pool, an entertainment area, a Costa Coffee, and a takeaway option on the Holiday Park itself. For kids, there is the Kids Club and an Adventure Playground (Additional charges may apply).

There are plenty of walks leading from the lodge towards the Lake or to Brockhole Visitors Centre, where you can partake in several outdoor activities, including the exciting Treetop Trek or catch one of the Windermere Cruises to nearby Ambleside, Wray Castle, Bowness or Newby Bridge.

There are excellent public transport links from the Holiday Park, too - The hourly 555 bus service runs daily between the site and Bowness and Windermere, or Keswick in the other direction.
